Andrea Tacchella is senior researcher at CREF, where he deals with Economic Fitness & Complexity (EFC), machine learning and innovation.
He was Research Fellow at the Institute of Complex Systems of the CNR where he contributed to the birth and development of the EFC framework, laying its empirical and theoretical foundations. In the same years he was a consultant for numerous international companies and institutions (Azimut, Shell, Lastminute.com) and collaborated with the World Bank in the implementation of the EFC framework in the Policy area.
From 2019 to 2022 he was employed at the Joint Research Center of the European Commission, in Seville, promoting the use of EFC among the economic analysis tools of the Commission.
