Hygor Piaget is a senior researcher at CREF and works to characterize the relationship between economic complexity and mobility within cities.
He obtained his Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics from the Federal University of Ceará in Brazil (2016). From 2019 to 2022 he was a postdoctoral researcher at the CFTC (ULisbon) studying the collective dynamics of cancer cells on flat substrates.
His main areas of interest are non-equilibrium statistical mechanics and computational social science. His research is focused on a Model from Data approach to understand and predict the collective human behavior taking urban mobility into account as a key element.
