Marco Garbini

Researcher

I have been a permanent researcher at CREF since 2018. My research activity is in experimental and applied Particle Physics and Astroparticles in the international laboratories: CERN (Ginevra, Svizzera), LNGS (Assergi, AQ, Italia). In particular, I work in Astroparticle underground experiments devoted to the study of VHE cosmic rays and gravitational stellar collapses (LVD exp.), experiments to search for atmospheric and/or beam (CNGS) neutrino oscillations, and direct search for Dark Matter (XENON and DarkSide).
I am in charge of the Extreme Energy Events project (CREF and INFN). It is a research and outreach program for measurements of the cosmic rays fluxes on ground level, with the active participation of students and teachers from about 100 High schools all over Italy hosting the detectors.
Recently, I  joined the CREF project FlashDC – Flash Dosimeter Counter for the development of a dose counter for the novel Flash therapy.
Since 2014 I have been an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Physics and Astronomy “Augusto Righi” for the laboratory part of the Nuclear and Subnuclear Physics Laboratory course and an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology for the Statistics course for the Master of Science in Biotechnology.
